Carnelian is an orange variety of chalcedony which is part of the larger quartz family, with a hardness of 7 on the Moth scale. Wearing Carnelian in ancient times by warriors gave them courage in battle. Wearing Carnelian also promotes leadership, and the ability to express oneself eloquently.

To recharge the positive energies of Carnelian it is best to place it for a few minutes in sunlight, or by dipping it in Mountain water.
